Heidelberg

Some more details for the foreign visitors of my blog:
Last weekend, we visited the romantic city of Heidelberg at the river Neckar. The ruins of the castle are located above the roofs of the historic city centre. From Heidelberg Castle, you have a beautiful view of the valley. Inside the castle, there is one of the biggest wine barrels of the world. This tourist attraction was built in 1751 and is more than nine yards long and eight yards high, its capacity are 55,345 gallons. As a pharmacist, I also had a look at the German Pharmacy Museum. It is located in the Heidelberg Castle grounds, too. The collection includes a complete pharmacist's office, a laboratory, manuscripts, a wide variety of vessels, mortars, and technical flasks, and lots of raw drugs representing medicine from the 17th to 19th centuries.
